Natural bristles such as tampico and palmyra work well for general cleaning but are not recommended for use in a cleanroom because they retain bacteria. Hog bristle is another great choice because it provides both a medium to stiff texture and is heat, alkali and acid resistant.
Bristle Length
Depending on the application, brush length will impact cleaning precision. A shorter bristle will be easier to maneuver in tight corners while a longer brush will be faster at covering a larger surface area.
The bristle trim also impacts the softness or stiffness of a brush. Bristles can be trimmed straight, flagged (with split ends), or unflagged. Flagged bristles are softer and more flexible while unflagged bristles are stiffer and more aggressive.
